16 March 2017- The Minister of Infrastructures and Transport, Graziano Delrio, met this morning in Rome, at the premises of the Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport, the Iraqi Minister of Transport, Kadhum Finjan Al Hamami, in order to promote a future bilateral collaboration in Infrastructure and Transport sectors.
Minister Delrio has recalled the constant support provided by Italy to foster the unity and the territorial integrity of Iraq, which are key factors for achieving the stability in the Region. Support which is also provided, inter alia, by the Italian Companies set up in Iraq , as well as by the Italian contribution to the Iraqi General Plan for Transport.
The Iraqui Minister, Al Hamami, expressed his Country’s interest in being supported by Italy for the safety and security procedures and the management of airports and air traffic as well as for port and maritime transport sectors.
Both Ministers shared the intention to strengthen their relationship in these two sectors in particular, in order to favor the return of the Iraqi people to a period of prosperity.
