The MoU between Italy and Vietnam on Infrastructures and Transport was signed at the MIT premises

22 November 2016 – The Deputy Minister of Infrastructures and Transport, Riccardo Nencini, met today in Rome his Vietnamese Counterpart, the Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Dong, in the framework of the official visit of the President of Vietnam to Italy.

During the meeting, following the visit of Minister Delrio to Vietnam September last, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the cooperation in Infrastructures and Transport Sectors was signed. It defines the  framework guidelines for the projects to be implemented in the future.

Deputy Minister Nencini has expressed his satisfaction with the successful conclusion of negotiation on the Memorandum of Cooperation: “ The MoU lays the foundations for promoting and consolidating the development projects in various transport and infrastructure sectors, the carrying out of researches and studies, the implementation of joint projects, the joint management of logistics programs, the training of sector Officials, the exchange of experience, high-level specialists and advanced technologies in the Transport Sector and in the implementation of public-private partnership projects”- added  Nencini.  

The Memorandum, as Minister Delrio and his Counterpart wished during their meeting in Hanoi,  also set up a Joint Committee on Infrastructure and Transport Sectors, with the functions of carrying out regular bilateral consultations in order to promote the identification of  development priorities and the implementation of concrete projects.

"We are working on the important upcoming events – said the Deputy Minister – which will make it possible to achieve many ongoing initiatives,  giving new impulse to the bilateral relations. We also intend to speed up the ratification procedures of the Air Service Agreement, so contributing to the further development of the bilateral trade relations.
