Fca emissions

19 May 2016 – As for the statements made today by the German Federal Minister of Transport, Alexander Dobrindt, it is hereby confirmed that yesterday the Minister of Infrastructures and Transport, Graziano Delrio, sent a letter to Minister Dobrindt on NOx emissions control, in which he stated that the comparison on motor vehicles emissions of the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles Group (FCA Group),  shall be made between  the two National Approval Authorities.

In this letter, Minister Delrio affirmed that “the FCA Manufacturer Group, whose models have been approved in Italy, has declared its full and complete availability” to provide the competent Authority “with information on its emission control strategy”. Minister Delrio therefore added that it is necessary “to launch an official dialogue between our respective Approval Authorities”,  that is, the MIT (Italian Ministry of Infrastructures and Transport) for Italy and the KBA (the German Approval Authority) for Germany,  which is responsible for this issue, according to the framework Directive 2007/46/EC, instead of continuing the direct exchanges with the manufacturer.

The Italian Ministry therefore confirmed that the comparison must be made between  the two respective competent Approval Authorities.
